Where to begin!
For the past 2 days I have been training my brain…learning how to better communicate, learning how to think outside the box, and learning how to approach this upcoming year so that my team and I can be successful! My days started at 8am and went until 10pm, so let’s just say “visualization” was the only training done here in Boston. It was truly a great meeting though as I learned so much:
- I can influence others, but I can only control myself (my thoughts, my words, my body language, my actions, etc)
- If I control my thoughts, then I can train myself to “believe” (realistic goals) and also influence my team to “believe”
- There is always an extra inch you can obtain if you just “believe” in yourself – whether it’s work related or not, there is always that extra inch that you can push yourself. In Sales, it could be calling out to 5% more prospects in a day…and in rowing, for me, it’s breaking that mental barrier and pulling a sub 7:20 2km erg test!!
I can’t share much more as it is not info I can share, but the main lessons learned are very applicable to life, and of course, rowing.
I will leave you with this inspiring video below that was shown to me years ago before a Rowing Regatta, and then again just yesterday in my day long meeting:
Back to the water tomorrow!
Can't wait:)
